Taster Days are available in our consortium schools.
Who are these days for?
The Taster days are open to those wishing to gain an insight into primary and secondary teacher training and who are considering making an application to a local secondary teacher training provider.
Who would qualify for the course starting September 2017?
In order to gain a place on a secondary teacher training course you must have a GCSE in English and Mathematics, to at least a Grade C standard, and an honours degree class 2:2 or above. You will also need to have passed both of the skills tests. You are welcome to attend the Taster Days if you will have met the entry requirements before the start of the course in September 2017.
What do the Taster days involve?
You will visit one of our consortium schools. You will have a chance to talk with a variety of teaching staff and to observe lessons that relate to your subject specialism or preferred age range. There will be an opportunity to visit the CTTC centre and to meet with some of the members of the teacher training team. They will be available to answer any questions you might have following your visits.
How long are the days?
The times of the days vary from school to school but in most cases the day will start at 9.00am and finish at 3.00pm. Morning or Afternoon visits can also be arranged.
How do I apply?
Please email the Consortium Administrator, Carole Cansdale at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending a Taster day.
