Colchester Teacher Training Consortium provides several pathways into Initial Teacher Training. Take a look at the options below to determine which one suits you best.

All trainees, regardless of the route they choose, receive the same quality of training and support. Each pathway leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), accredited by the University of Suffolk. Applicants for the salaried or apprenticeship routes must have significant experience working in a school and must secure a firm job offer from a school before applying. CTTC does not facilitate direct employment with schools, so we advise candidates without a job offer to consider the tuition fee route. Trainees on the salaried and apprenticeship paths receive payment from their employing school according to the Unqualified Teacher Scale, at a pay point determined by their employer.
