CTTC Announces New Partnership with the University of Suffolk

2 September 2026

CTTC is delighted to announce a new partnership with the University of Suffolk to deliver the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) elements of the University’s BA (Hons) Childhood: Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

From September 2026, CTTC will bring its extensive experience of school-based teacher training to the three-year undergraduate programme, working alongside the University of Suffolk to prepare the next generation of primary teachers.

Students will combine academic study at the University with high-quality professional training and extensive experience in schools. Through CTTC, they will benefit from expert teacher educators, experienced mentors and our established network of partner schools across Essex and Suffolk.

Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, CTTC has a long-established reputation for high-quality, school-led Initial Teacher Training. The new partnership provides an exciting opportunity to combine the University of Suffolk’s academic expertise with CTTC’s expertise in teacher development and strong relationships with schools.

Christine Wager, Director of CTTC, said:

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Suffolk on this exciting undergraduate route into teaching. This is an important development for CTTC and a natural extension of the work we already do to train and develop excellent teachers across our region. It gives us the opportunity to support aspiring teachers right from the beginning of their undergraduate journey through to achieving Qualified Teacher Status. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the University of Suffolk students into the CTTC partnership and supporting them as they develop into confident, skilled and effective primary teachers.”

The partnership reflects CTTC and the University of Suffolk’s shared commitment to developing excellent teachers and supporting a strong and sustainable teacher workforce across our region.
